TELL US YOUR STORY, WHO ARE YOU AND HOW DID YOU START IN THE HEALTH AND FITNESS INDUSTRY?
My name is Tanya Matthews. I am an exercise physiologist working for Fitnance Australia. I didn’t know what I wanted to do when I finished high school but I knew I loved sports and wanted an active career. I completed a degree in Human Movement Studies at QUT in 2006 and met Steve Nance (founder of Fitnance) as a lecturer in one of my subjects. I completed my major university prac at Fitnance and loved it so much that I am still here today, 8 years later. I have also worked with professional athletes and sporting teams in many different sports. Wynnum Manly Seagulls Rugby League Club is the latest team I am working with.

Fitnance is based in a shed in East Brisbane. We are part of the Registered Training Organisation that teaches Certificate III & IV in Fitness. A very fun environment to train, learn and meet new people.
WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST GUILTY PLEASURE WHEN IT COMES TO FOOD?

Drink water between alcoholic drinks. Plan exercise sessions or get in some extra activities eg. Surfing, bushwalking.
