Are Eggs Good for Health Or Not?

Eggs are one of the more common items that can be found in a person refrigerator, yet many people have a lack of knowledge about this simple food. Some say they are detrimental to your health while others swear by their health benefits. Let's start out with the bare nutritional information. One large egg has anywhere from 70 to 80 calories, around 210 milligrams of cholesterol, and 6-7 grams of protein. People will always point out the high cholesterol as being detrimental to the body and a risk for heart disease, but it is important to note that the cholesterol is almost entirely in the yoke of the egg, which many people take out despite a study of over 100,000 people that proved eating eggs every day would not increase the risk of coronary heart disease. The protein is located in the egg white. An egg is also relatively high in saturated fat. The fat and protein in eggs make it a perfect tool for bulking up on muscle, and the cholesterol in the egg also helps in building muscle. This is what has made it one of the top natural bodybuilding supplements. People often completely forget about all of the other helpful nutrients in eggs such as leucine, vitamin B12, phosphorus and riboflavin. Eggs are great food supplements for getting nutrients you might miss in your other meals during the day. There has also been much debate over the methods used to eat the egg. Many believe eating the egg raw will allow more nutrients such as avidin to be absorbed by the body without being burned off in the cooking process. The nutrients burned off in the cooking process are minimal, especially if cooked at a low temperature, and a nice soft-boiled egg retains many of those nutrients. You should always cook your eggs to be sure they are safe to consume. Eggs are a great thing to add if you are missing some nutrition and supplements in your diet and want to live a healthy lifestyle.
