IMPORTANCE OF GYM AND FITNESS

It might seem obvious, but you’re going to need to workout. Lots. You will need to get into a habit of visiting the gym each day. Don't just go once a week and expect to see results. You need to incorporate workouts into your everyday routine, it needs to become a lifestyle. If you're new, you will need at least three gym sessions per week with one day of rest in between for your muscles to recover.

Finding ways to build muscle at home is also important. Home gyms are a great way to gain easy access to all the gym equipment you need in the comfort of your own space. So on those busy days when you can't make it to the gym, you can still get some gym time in.

A good fitness plan is integral when entering the bodybuilding game, it will help to keep you focused and motivated. It's much easier to keep up your gym routine when you have a plan in place. You should also consider finding someone who is experienced in weightlifting to give you tips. A personal trainer can help you with your gym routine and teach you how to lift weights safely.

NUTRITION AND DIET

You should determine how many calories you need to consume each day and make sure that you are getting your calories in different ways to provide absolute nutrition.  You can eat more of certain kinds of foods that are packed with the nutrients you need. For example, you can eat lots of lean protein from meats and eggs. You should also increase the number of vegetables in your diet to help boost your health.

Protein is the building block of muscle and you need to make sure that you are getting enough to build muscle. While not an exact science, you can calculate your protein need by multiplying every kilogram of lean body weight by 2.2g and that will give you a protein goal to aim for. It's also important for your muscles to have a good supply of energy so be sure not to neglect carbs and fats in your diet, in moderation of course.

Junk food will need to be eliminated from your diet. You should only be eating healthy foods that will fuel your gym sessions. Eating fatty foods can lead to the wrong type of gains, rather than building muscle - the best kind.

Hydration is important when working out. You should be drinking plenty of water before and after your gym sessions. Proper hydration will help you to recover faster and prevent fatigue.

FOOD AND SUPPLEMENTS

Supplements can be used before, during and after a workout to help you get the calories and protein you need each day. Protein powder is a great way to hit your daily protein goals, and can be used in combination with other supplements to help you get the nutrition your body needs. Supplements are not a magic muscle building solution, but they can help you get the most out of your gym sessions.

You should sit down and plan out all the meals and shakes that you are going to consume each day. This will prevent you from making poor choices when it comes to your diet. You can even use an app like MyFitnessPal or one of the many other health and fitness apps out there that makes tracking your nutrition much easier and helps with accountability.

Supplements should be used only as advised and while supplements can help you on your bodybuilding journey, they are not a replacement for training and nutrition. Supplements should be used to complement your gym routine, not replace it.
