Wraps

Boxing wraps are soft materials that are wound around the wrist to protect the bones and tendons from impact during training. They have the additional benefit of supporting and stabilizing the wrist and thumb. They are used by boxers and martial arts trainees during training. Some wraps are durable and others disposable - meant for a few number of sues. They come in various sizes to suit the fist of different users.
There are many types of boxing hand wraps.
Cotton Hand Wraps - They are made from cotton material for comfort and designed with a thumb loop to separate the thump from the rest of the fingers. They have Velcro closure for easy, secured strapping and removal.
Elastic Hand Wraps - Will stretch to accommodate the hand size of the boxer.
Boxing Gel Wraps - have neoprene hand wrap with protected gel padding. The glove is cut out so it shows an open palm and fingers. This wrap suits beginners whose hands need extra protection from impact. Neoprene is a special reinforced rubber that has the ability to absorb high impact or shock without losing form.
Quick wraps - are elastic pull on fingerless mitts. One size fits all. They are padded for extra protection against bruises and impact.
Wraps should be worn during sparring with opponents so you prevent injuries. Even when you use regular gloves for training, they must be worn under the gloves to protect the fingers beneath from fractures, bruises and injury.
In buying wraps look for ones that have Velcro fastener at the end so you can easily wrap on and remove. You must also buy one that has a thumb loop at the end."
